Hi — I'm Chris Gillis. As a league director, I showed up to my weekly league 20 minutes early, like always. Before I could even get the check-in table set up, players were already asking about division layouts, CTP holes, and whether they could play with their friend on the same card.
By the time we teed off, I'd answered the same three questions a dozen times, scrambled to duplicate last week's Excel spreadsheet, triple-checked that the starting ace pot carried over correctly. Sound familiar?
That's every week for me now. Before the spreadsheet days? I was that guy squinting at clipboard handwriting trying to remember if "J. Smith" paid for the CTP or just the ace pot. Managing check-ins, collecting buy-ins, sorting divisions, running ace pots and CTPs, organizing cards, calculating payouts... all while 20-40 players circle around with "just one quick question."
